 Your Wedding Photography Questions Answered

So, you are about to plan your Wedding Photography. Fantastic... but it can seem like quite a minefield at first! To help you along, we have addressed some of the most commonly-asked questions below.

If you have any queries which are not covered below, please do contact us to get your answers.

Is Giles Babbidge Photography affiliated to any wedding/photographic organisations?

Yes, absolutely. Giles has accreditation from the British Professional Photographers Associates (BPPA) and the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers (SWPP). As an Associateship member, his images are considered to "display a high degree of technical ability but also portray imagination and creativity in their execution and presentation".

How much notice do you need in order to photograph our Wedding?

As well as those bookings which are made months in advance, we often get couples coming to us at short-notice (for example, they might have been let down by another photographer at the last minute or maybe they have decided to bring their Wedding date forward). The best piece of advice we can give you regarding this is: 1. Search the Wedding pages of our website and find out a bit about our approach, 2. Check our availability for your Wedding Day, and then, on the basis that you want to proceed, 3. Send us your deposit ASAP in order to secure your booking.

Where and how far are you prepared to travel?

We are not geographically tied, so there is no reason why we could not photograph your wedding anywhere in the world if you so wished.

Once we have chosen you to be our wedding photographer, what is the next step?

First of all, just get in touch. We will send you our simple Booking Form; all you need to do is fill in your details and return the form along with your deposit, which will guarantee your booking. After that, we will give you a call to arrange the next step.

Can we meet up before the wedding day itself?

Oh yes, definitely. In fact, we insist on having a pre-wedding meeting approximately one month before your Big Day (where practical). Why? Well, obviously it gives us the chance to break the ice, but also allows us to discuss your specific requirements, and to explore the photographic opportunities within your chosen locations. This is especially important because it means we can make contingency plans just in case the weather ends up being less than perfect!

Are there any special seasonal considerations we should be aware of for our photography?

All you need to worry about is enjoying your special day. We have photographed weddings in all manner of weather conditions - some good, others not so good! Either way, we'll have it covered.

Will the weather affect the way you photograph our wedding?

Only in as much as we might have to  turn to Plan B - but it is a case of going with the flow, taking things as they come on the day.

How soon after the wedding day can we expect our pictures to arrive?

Your pictures will usually be available to view in your password-protected online gallery within a matter of days - just as soon as we can get them uploaded, in fact. One of the great advantages of being able to supply pictures so quickly, online, is that  couples can often view their photographs whilst on honeymoon. You will be sent a link to the collection once it is ready. We will also supply you with a printed Preview Album, which is ultimately yours to keep - this should be on your door matt within 14 days of the Wedding Day.

Do you offer packages covering different ways to present our pictures?

All our packages are based on a pick 'n' mix approach, because we think our customers should be able to choose from as many complimentary options as possible - all of which will show off the pictures at their best.  We don't want you to commit to a particular package before your big day - instead, you pay simply us an Attendance Fee and then make your choices after the Wedding, once you've received your Preview Album. At that time, you can choose from a wide range of options including Print Packages, CD/DVD Packages, Picture Books, Albums and Framing.

We love our pictures but would rather someone else mounted them in the album for us. Is this possible?

If you choose one of our traditional albums in which to display your pictures, we would always encourage you to do this yourself - because it's your day, your photographs, your memories. We think it's nice for the newly-married couple to sit down together and arrange these as they remember them. But yes, we can also do this on your behalf.

How do we find out more about the services you offer?

If you would like to receive an information pack, the quickest thing to do is simply take a moment to fill out our Wedding Enquiry Form. Or, if you would prefer to ask a few questions via phone or email, you can contact us here.
